Shari Ulrich (1995-1998, 2001-2005)

A 2002 BC Entertainment Hall of Fame inductee, Shari has excelled as a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, TV host, composer, scriptwriter and theatre performer since launching her career in the early 70s.  After coming to Vancouver from San Francisco’s Bay Area, she formed the trio The Pied Pumkin with Rick Scott and Joe Mock, showcasing her finesse on violin, mandolin, flute, piano, sax and dulcimer. In 1975, she began touring with Valdy and the Hometown Band, with whom she went on to earn a Juno Award for best new group. By 1978, Shari's solo career was well underway and she went on to record six solo albums of original songs (earning another Juno) as well as two with Bill Henderson and Roy Forbes as UHF. The title track of her most recent CD, The View From Here, marks her first collaboration with Michael Creber, whose incomparable piano playing is the cornerstone of every track. Shari is currently writing and recording her next CD and performing with the reunited Pied Pumkin, UHF, and as a solo act with her partner Bill Runge and her daughter Julia on violin.
