Gordon Maxwell (2000-2002)

Gordon Maxwell has been singing, studying music and playing instruments since before he can remember. He has a degree in music and is an accomplished pianist. That combined with his feel for music and tremendous vocal gift make him a very powerful contributor to the entire scene. He is a highly sought-after studio singer and has sung background vocals on albums from Vancouver to Winnipeg including those of Amanda Stott, Duane Steele, Poverty Plainsmen and Bobbie Smith to name just a few. Gordon is an award winning songwriter and a 28-year veteran bassist who has played with such greats as Lucille Star and Lisa Brokop. Most recently he has been touring and recording with Ian Tyson. He is also the lead singer/bass player of the band One Horse Blue. Not only has he sung some of Canada's top charting country singles, Gordon has written and/or co-written several top ten songs including the hit "Hopeless Love" which was the first independently released single in Canada to reach #1, and "Baby Don't Cry" which went to #4 for two consecutive weeks. A truly gifted musician, Gordon sings from his soul and writes from his heart; every melody will have you singing along.
