Angela Kelman (2000-2004)
A prairie girl from Manitoba, Angela spent her early musical years working around Winnipeg in projects such as Tom and Angela ("The Dreaded Duo"), Java, and The Argyles, as well as many appearances on radio and television. In 1989, she left Winnipeg to study at The Musician's Institute in Hollywood, California and graduated with honours.
For the last ten years, she has been writing, recording, and performing with the group "Farmer's Daughter." The group has two gold albums to their credit, as well as a Juno Award, two CCMA Awards, Big Country Awards, and numerous BCCMA and West Coast Music Awards. Farmer's Daughter has also appeared regularly on such television shows as Canada AM, Pamela Wallin Live, CBC Newsworld, Mike Bullard, Vicki Gabereau, Dini Petty and It's A Living; the group's twelve videos have also been on heavy rotation on CMT.
Angela has had the pleasure of entertaining audiences from one Canadian coast to the other (many, many times) as well as all over the world, in Hong Kong, the Philippines, Macau, Germany, Holland, Bosnia, Egypt, and Israel. She has also had the privilege of performing for Prime Ministers, royalty, and of course supportive fans. Currently pursuing a solo project with her new bossa nova-flavoured CD "Cafe Brasilia," and performing with her 70's retro band, The Polyester Philharmonic, Angela looks forward to the adventures every new project has to offer. The greatest adventure ever, however, has been the arrival of her son Alexander, now almost a year old.
