Howe Sounds (2001 - 2004)

A hot Vancouver-based vocal group comprised of Monique Creber, Angela Kelman, Steve Maddock and David Steele, Howe Sounds is known for its lush harmonies and rich, layered arrangements of pop and jazz standards. Howe Sounds performs a broad repertoire of popular material from the 1940s to the present.  Hits from The Mamas & Papas, The Beatles, Carol King, The Jackson 5, The Carpenters, The Manhattan Transfer, The Platters, Simon & Garfunkle, The Turtles, Joni Mitchell and Stevie Wonder, to name a few. From classic pop and jazz to bossa nova, Brazilian jazz and gospel; accompanied by piano, small band or orchestra...Howe Sounds does it all with flair. The common thread? Polished ensemble singing interspersed with dynamic solo performances.

 

Howe Sounds brings together four accomplished professional vocalists, each with an impressive musical track record in his or her own right. Collectively and individually they have performed and recorded with a wide range of locally- and nationally-renowned pop and jazz musicians, including The Rankin Family, Cher, Dee Daniels, Raffi, Farmer's Daughter, Norman Foote, Little Caesar, Shari Ulrich, Valdy, Bill Coon, Denzel Sinclaire & Kenny Werner.
