Dee Daniels (2001, 2003)

Dee Daniels offers the jazz aficionado an ultimate treat - jazz served up with full-bodied silky tones that soar to the height and capture the depth of her four-octave range. Whether accompanying herself at the piano, fronting a trio, big band or symphony, Dee is as much at home with blues and gospel as she is with her distinctive jazz styling. The critics have referred to her as the embodiment of sophisticated artistry. Her colleagues refer to her as a musician's musician.

Daniels' style was born in her father's church choir, honed through the R&B era and brought to full fruition during her five-year stay in Europe. One of the highlights of her European stay was performing for the 25th wedding anniversary of the King and Queen of Belgium. In addition to Belgium, Dee has performed throughout several European countries, the United Kingdom, Africa, Egypt, Hongkong, the United States, Canada, Australia and Japan. The appearance Dee made at the Hollywood Bowl with Kevin Mahogany, Take 6, and the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra received glowing reviews, as did her appearance with Jazz trumpet legend, Clark Terry, in a "Tribute to Louis Armstrong". Audiences in the classical world have been raving about her appearances in Pops programs with New York conductor, Jeff Tyzik. Those programs feature works of Duke Ellington and other Kings of Swing, as well as her own "Great Ladies of Swing" program.

Dee's latest CD, Feels SO Good! features Houston Person, Norman Simmons, John Clayton Jr., Benny Powell, and Kenny Washington.
