Elmwood Senior Choir (2003)
Elmwood
Senior Choir is part of a unique community that inspires
young women to develop their individual abilities in the
pursuit of excellence for success in the global society.
The nineteen-voice choir, under the direction of Mr. Robert
Palmai, is an auditioned group ranging in age from thirteen
to seventeen. The ensemble sings a wide range of repertoire
from the Renaissance to Contemporary Canadian works.
It provides two concerts a year for the school plus a special
appearance at the Rideau Club at Christmas time.
Robert
Palmai is the founding conductor of the Amadeus
Choir of Greater Toronto. He was Musical Director
of the Savoy Society of Ottawa for eight years and is organist
at Emmanuel Untied Church. In retirement from
thirty years of high school music teaching, he is enjoying
coaching and accompanying singers and instrumentalists.
He is currently preparing an organ recital for his
congregation at Emmanuel.
