Cross Town Youth Chorus (2003)
The
Cross Town Youth Chorus (CTYC) was formed in Orleans in
September 2002 under the guidance of Lynne Stacey as a direct
result of two incidents. Firstly, a growing number of requests
came from the community for a choral group aimed at children
and youth under the age of sixteen. Secondly, a search was
apparent by parents of and school age children and youth
for a choral group to replace cancelled school programs
due to educational system changes.
CTYC is a non-auditioned choir that provides an opportunity
for children and youth 7 to 15 years of age in the City
of Ottawa and surrounding area to join together in friendship
and song.
CTYC provides an opportunity for its members to :
• explore and express their artistic talents through
singing and music
• promote the performing arts for youth especially
in the Ottawa East end
• create an awareness within the community of the
talents of our youth
