CM Singers (1997-2003)
The CM Singers
(formerly known as the Mikonique Singers) are the vocal performance
group associated with Creber Music Academy. Under the direction
of Monique Creber, they are fast emerging as one of the most
talented, vibrant and versatile young vocal groups in the
Lower Mainland. Mostly residents of the North Shore, these
dynamic performers range in age from 5 to 16. Together, they
perform and record a wide variety of appealing repertoire
that includes pop, gospel, blues & musical theatre.
The CM Singers have also become
a popular choice for producers in need of children's backup
vocals on professional recording projects. Over the past
two years, members of the CM Singers have recorded back-up
vocals for Michael Crawford's latest album Michael Crawford
- The Disney Album, a multi-artist compilation album entitled
Country Goes Raffi, Raffi's latest album Let's Play, and
other Raffi recordings for the Jane Goodall Institute. The
CM Singers have also been heard singing on the international
hit daytime show "Regis & Kelly" (backing up Michael
Crawford) and CBC TV's live national coverage of a Nelson
Mandela tribute in Ottawa (backing up Raffi).
Recent live performances have included singing backups
vocals for children's entertainers Judy & David at their
Boombox concert at the Centennial Theatre. The CM Singers
were also featured performers for a half hour set at Ambleside
Park on Canada Day.
