Carisbrooke School Intermediate
Choir (2003)
The
Carisbrooke School Intermediate Choir is delighted and honoured
to be a part of The Magic of Christmas for the first
time. Choir is a well-established curricular and extra-curricular
program at Carisbrooke; their success is due to the energy,
talent and commitment of the over 125 students from grades
4 through 7. The choir performs regularly in Christmas
and Spring concerts and at festivals throughout the year.
In previous years, Carisbrooke's choirs have been
a part of the Opening Ceremonies for the Carl Orff
Canada National Conference in 2000 and the Mad About Mozart
concert series hosted by the Vancouver Symphony in 2001.
Carisbrooke's Intermediate Choir hopes this evening's
concert will be a wonderful start to a busy Christmas season.
All the best at Christmas and in the upcoming year.
Margaret
Inglis has been the music specialist and choir
director at Carisbrooke for the past 19 years. Carisbrooke's
music program uses the Carl Orff approach incorporating
speech, singing, movement, instrument playing and drama
to develop a wide range of musical skills. Margaret
was the recipient of the 2002 BC Professional Music Educators'
Award and the 1993 North Vancouver Music Educators Award
of Excellence. She has been president of both local and
provincial music educators' associations, executive member
on Carl Orff Canada's National Executive Board for 4 years,
and a member of the North Vancouver District's Fine Arts
Leadership Team. She would like to thank Greg Milner,
her Principal, her colleagues at Carisbrooke and the Carisbrooke
parent community. Without their unfailing support, a performance
like this would not have been possible.
